About Me
Gameplay Programmer | Game Developer | Problem Solver
📍 Based near Bath, United Kingdom
Hi, I'm Liam Snow 👋🏻
I've been enthusiastically developing software for over a decade now, where I thrive on tackling problems, paying attention to technical details, and creating workable solutions. I have a proven track record of working independently on complex tasks, or collaborating within a multi-disciplined team. Following a successful career at one of the UK's leading communications providers, and spurred on after the events of the pandemic, I dedicated my career towards pursuing a lifelong ambition: to become a game developer.
As such, I completed an intensive game programming course at a leading online school, where I was fortunate enough to be mentored by several industry veterans. Being a part of a truly global community inspired me to help and guide my fellow students, and led to me directly collaborating with my peers on our first indie title, as we strived to achieve both funding and publication.
During this time, I was headhunted for a position at a startup AA game development studio. From designing and implementing gameplay and UI features and systems, to creating developer tools, bug fixing, profiling, and optimisation, I was able to combine my previous enterprise experience and recent knowledge to positively contribute on the project, from pre-production through to post-release.
Throughout all of this, I have maintained a positive attitute, a strong desire for personal growth, and the passion and creativity required to see technical projects through to their completion.
Professional Experience
Collaborated with multi-disciplinary teams to implement and iterate on Gameplay and UI systems for Project Motor Racing. Developed the race engineer radio system, various menus, and an image generation tool. Profiled and optimised the HUD mini map, as well as resolved over a hundred bugs.
Primary AI specialist on Spade Investigations' prototype. Developed the AI Manager system and behaviour trees for the player's companion, and other non-player characters. Initiated talks with a prospective publishing company, whilst representing the company at the WASD convention.
Assisted students from various programmes with general course and technical queries. Created, hosted, and promoted programming related events. Advised 22 prospective students, resulting in two referrals joining the programming courses.
Configured, developed, and supported thousands of print and software applications for mailings. Primary developer and maintainer for the largest print application of the main client. Processed over one million customers during its peak, delivering the project on time, with minimal faults.
Promoted self-learning amongst the first year students, through discussion and practice of the subject material. Cooperated with fellow PALS Leaders and academic staff, to report on recent developments, and to prepare for weekly sessions. Reported an increase in students' engagement with modular content, as well as increases in test and coursework grades.

Beyond Code
When I'm not programming, you'll likely find me walking through the beautiful countryside near Bath.
At home I'll be trying to catch up on my back catalogue of games and books, or playing with my cats.
I'm also a keen home cook, a former martial artist, and a casual archer.
Did I mention that I'm dabbling in Dutch too?
I'm always wanting to learn and grow, and I'm now looking for my next challenge!
